Mental health impacts every area of our lives. Improving your mental health can directly affect your psychological, emotional, and social well-being. Psychiatric medications can be used with lifestyle changes and behavioral modifications to influence the brain chemicals that regulate emotions and thought patterns to improve mental health. Lyons Health and Wellness provides medication management for depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Through Megan’s empathetic, holistic, approach she will review your medical history, symptoms and experiences that led you to seek treatment and then carefully construct a treatment plan that is unique to your needs. Based on your diagnosis, medication may be prescribed as a component of your treatment plan. She will continually work with you in follow-up visits to ensure your medication is giving you the desired results and will adjust the dosage and/or prescription according to your needs.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental health condition affecting both children and adults. It is the most commonly diagnosed mental disorder in children. While adults may have it as well, it often goes undiagnosed. Similar to what the name suggests, ADHD causes symptoms of inattention (inability to focus), hyperactivity (excessive movement or inability to sit still), and impulsivity (actions that occur without thought).
At Lyons Health and Wellness, we can provide ADHD diagnosis and treatment for non-complex cases. If medication is prescribed, our goal is to prescribe the lowest dose necessary for symptom management. In addition to symptomatic treatment with medication we may also discuss lifestyle and behavioral changes to promote executive functioning skills.
* Please note that booking and paying for an appointment does not guarantee that you will be given an ADHD diagnosis. There are certain diagnostic criteria that must be met in order to have a diagnosis. Medication for treatment of ADHD will not be prescribed if diagnostic criteria is not met.
Our goal is to provide a holistic practice where your wellness goals can be met and therefore desire to integrate mental health care. However, there are limitations to our mental health care services, and this means that there may be instances where it is recommended that you see a specialist, or psychiatrist, for your care. in the event we decided that you may have a condition that is more appropriately diagnosed and managed by a psychiatrist, we will provide psychiatry referrals.
